Outer Bounds for the Symmetric Gaussian Cognitive Radio Channel with DPC Encoded Cognitive Transmitter

چکیده
We present new outer bounds to the individual rates and the conditions under which these bounds become tight for the symmetric Gaussian cognitive radio (CR) channel in the low interference gain regime. The CR transmitter is assumed to use dirty paper coding while deriving the outer bounds. The capacity of the CR channel in the low interference scenario is known when the CR employs “polite” approach by devoting some portion of its power to transmit primary user’s (PU’s) message. However, this approach does not guarantee any quality of service for the CR users. Hence, we focus on the scenario when the CR goes for the “rude” approach, does not relay PU’s message and tries to maximize its own rates only. It is shown that when both CR and the PU operate in low interference gain regime, then treating interference as additive noise at the PU receiver and doing dirty paper coding at the CR is nearly optimal.

On The Secrecy of the Cognitive Interference Channel with Channel State
In this paper the secrecy problem in the cognitive state-dependent interference channel is considered. In this scenario we have a primary and a cognitive transmitter-receiver pairs. The cognitive transmitter has the message of the primary sender as side information. In addition, the state of the channel is known at the cognitive encoder. Hence, the cognitive encoder uses this side information t...

This paper considers the cognitive interference channel (CIC) with two transmitters and two receivers, in which the cognitive transmitter non-causally knows the message and codeword of the primary transmitter. We first introduce a discrete memoryless more capable CIC, which is an extension to the more capable broadcast channel (BC). Using superposition coding, we propose an inner bound and an o...
متن کاملMultiuser Cognitive Radio Networks: An Information Theoretic Perspective
Achievable rate regions and outer bounds are derived for three-user interference channels where the transmitters cooperate in a unidirectional manner via a noncausal message-sharing mechanism. The three-user channel facilitates different ways of message-sharing between the primary and secondary (or cognitive) transmitters. Three natural extensions of unidirectional message-sharing from two user...
متن کاملCapacity Bounds and High-SNR Capacity of the Additive Exponential Noise Channel With Additive Exponential Interference
Communication in the presence of a priori known interference at the encoder has gained great interest because of its many practical applications. In this paper, additive exponential noise channel with additive exponential interference (AENC-AEI) known non-causally at the transmitter is introduced as a new variant of such communication scenarios. First, it is shown that the additive Gaussian ch...

This paper studies the value of limited rate cooperation between the transmitters for managing interference and simultaneously ensuring secrecy, in the 2-user Gaussian symmetric interference channel (GSIC). First, the problem is studied in the symmetric linear deterministic IC (SLDIC) setting, and achievable schemes are proposed, based on interference cancelation, relaying of the other user’s d...
